Decapeptyl Depot Description

Decapeptyl Depot (Triptorelin) is a powder and solvent for suspension for intramuscular injection. It can be used as an alternative to Lupron Depot.

Decapeptyl contains the active ingredient triptorelin acetate, which is a synthetic version of natural gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH). GnRH regulates the release of two hormones that are involved in the development of follicles and release of eggs from the ovaries: follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinising hormone (LH). This medication is also used in the treatment of Endometriosis.

Decapeptyl Depot - What's Included

Decapeptyl Depot comes in a vial containing sterile lyophilized microspheres. When mixed with supplied dilutant, it becomes a suspension which is administered as an intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. Needles and syringes are included.

Decapeptyl Depot is not the same as Decapeptyl 0.1mg / 1ml

Some patients are prescribed a daily dose of 0.1mg Decapeptyl that is administered subsutaneously. This medication is not the same as the Decapeptyl Depot offered on this page. Decapeptyl Depot is generally administered monthly and does not require refrigeration before use.
