The Difference Between US and European Ganirelix (Orgalutran, Antagon)
Ganirelix is sometimes sold under the brand Antagon in the US and is sold as a 0.25mg pre-filled syringe.
This medication is called Orgalutran in Europe. The name is different but it is manufactured by the same company as in the US. The big difference, of course, is the price, with Ganirelix being 3 to 4 times cheaper in Europe.

Common Ganirelix side effects include: Redness/pain at the injection site, headache, mild nausea/stomach pain, and tiredness may occur.
Serious Ganirelix side effects that require urgent medical attention include: Unusual vaginal bleeding and Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS) can cause fluid build up in the stomach, chest, and heart area. Symptoms of OHSS include severe pain/swelling in the pelvic region, severe nausea/vomiting, sudden/rapid weight gain, or change in the amount of urine. If you develop a rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness or have trouble breathing it might be caused by a severe allergic reaction, seek urgent medical attention.
