Lupron Depot Description
Lupron Depot is an injection. Our Lupron Depot price is as much as 4 times cheaper than the US.
Leuprolide Acetate (Lupron, Lucrin) is a synthetic form of the naturally occurring gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH or LHRH). Lupron Depot is used to treat endometriosis and uterine fibroids, as well as prostate cancer, breast cancer, and for early puberty, or as part of transgender hormone therapy.
It is generally administered by intramusclar injection.
Lupron Depot - What's Included
Lupron (Lucrin) Depot comes in a vial containing sterile lyophilized microspheres. When mixed with dilutant, it becomes a suspension which is administered as an intramuscular or subcutaneous injection every three months.
Each box contains the syringes and needles required to administer the injection.
The Difference Between US and European Lupron Depot
Lupron supplied by IVFPharmacy is made by AbbVie. It is a brand medication, not generic. The drug composition is exactly the same as Lupron Depot in the US but the packaging may vary slightly. In some countries, Lupron Depot is sold under the brand name Lucrin Depot. It is produced by the same manufacturer and is the exact same product. Of course, the main difference is the Lupron Depot price. IVFPharmacy has Lupron Depot (Leuprolide Acetate) at prices 80% cheaper than US pharmacies.
What if Lupron Depot is Out of Stock?
Unfortunately, Lupron Depot 3.75mg and 11.25mg is only available from one of our locations and it is not unusual for stock levels to be low or for the medication to be out of stock for long periods.
If you want to order Lupron Depot and it is out of stock, check if your doctor will provide a prescription for Decapeptyl or Zoladex which are available to ship from other more reliable locations. These two alternatives are also more competitively priced.
Lupron Depot Uses and Side Effects
Lupron Depot Uses & Indications:
Lupron (Lucrin) Depot is commonly used to treat endometriosis and uterine fibroids. For the treatment of uterine fibroids, leuprolide is usually given with iron to help improve anemia that is caused by too much vaginal bleeding. Leuprolide helps to reduce symptoms such as pelvic pain, painful/heavy menstrual periods, and abdominal bloating. It works by shrinking the abnormal tissue that causes these symptoms. The abnormal tissue needs the hormone estrogen to grow and spread. Leuprolide helps decrease the amount of estrogen that is made in the body.
Lupron Depot Side Effects:
Common Lupron side effects include: Mild burning/pain/bruising at the injection site, hot flashes (flushing), increased sweating, night sweats, tiredness, headache, upset stomach, breast changes, acne, joint/muscle aches, trouble sleeping, reduced sexual interest, vaginal discomfort/dryness, vaginal bleeding, swelling of the ankles/feet, increased urination at night, or dizziness.
