Femara Uses & Indications:
Femara is used to reduce Estrogen levels in women. Femara is often used in postmenopausal women and women going through the IVF process but is mainly used to slow the growth of certain types of breast cancer tumors that require estrogen to grow in the body, known as hormone receptor positive cancers. Reducing Estrogen can help women who are experiencing infertility and are trying to conceive.
Femara Side Effects:
Common Femara side effects include: Hot flashes, hair loss, joint/bone/muscle pain, tiredness, unusual sweating, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, and trouble sleeping.
Serious Femara side effects include: Bone fractures, mental/mood changes (such as depression, anxiety), swelling of arms/legs, blurred vision, persistent nausea/vomiting, unusual tiredness, dark urine or yellowing of the eyes/skin. Seek urgent advice from your doctor.
Heart attacks and strokes can occur in rare cases. Symptoms that require immediate medical attention include: sudden shortness of breath, chest/jaw/left arm pain, confusion, coughing up blood, sudden dizziness/fainting, pain/swelling/warmth in the groin/calf, tingling/weakness/numbness in the arms/legs, slurred speech, weakness on one side of the body, vision changes or sudden/severe headaches.
